Here's a subject I'm ignorant of, and I know there are some qualified folks on here.

Look at the two photos below. Should the aluminum tab be pulled back like this? Shouldn't it be pushed over where it covers the propane jet and protects it from wind?

Looks like mine did when we had a Dometic. My test would be: does it work? ..if it does, don't fix it.

Mine was like that, but they performed the Dometic 'Fire Hazard" recall and installed a large metal shield over that. U should check to see if u'r unit is on the Recall list.

Thanks to all. Joe and Charlotte, I'm going to check the list. We just bought the refrigerator last year, and it was just in for the 1 year "warranty preservation" inspection so I'll be pretty upset if it's on the list!

Yep. It looks wierd, but my old Dometic is pretty much the same with that huge gap between the gas jet orifice and the burner.
