We have a 2003 Fleetwood Expedition. The DW suggests its gets too way in the bedroom when we boondock. Has anyone added a ceiling fan or a fantastic vent in the roof of the bedroom area in an Expedition? Is there anything special I need to look out for if I take on this project?
Thanks.

We wanted a ceiling fan in our Dutch Star after we bought it. Newmar told us that the problem was the bedroom slide. Hope you have better luck.

They told me the same thing and refused to do it. So I added one myself. Found a 30" hallway, low clearance fan at a remodeling center. The fan is 120 volt but since we always have our inverter on it's not a problem. The fan blades have more angle on them than the normal ceiling fan so it moves more air then a 30" diam one should.
I pulled out a ceiling light and added bracing between the aluminum roof stringers and screwed the fan to it. Then I ran the wire through the ceiling to the passenger side OH cabinets, through them to the plug for the rear TV. I do have to be careful as I'm tall enough I could hit my heads on the blades, my wife doesn't have to worry!
I also had to watch the slide clearance, the fan misses the cabinets over the bed by just about a 1" while allowing me to walk upright (carefully) around the end of the bed

I couldn't get a ceiling fan in the bedroom of our Eagle because of the 30" slide. I have found if I close the front windows and open the bedroom windows and turn on the fantastic fan the wind whistles through the bedroom. One fan on low is usually enough but I could turn on all three on high if I had to.

We've had Fantastic fans in the bedrooms of our TTs, but that wasn't possible in the DP because of the AC duct. So we bought a ceiling fan for it after seeing one in a new Beaver. Didn't get around to intalling it before we sold the DP, so it's still in its box.

An Exhaust Fan in the bathroom can cause problems with smell from the black tank. If the fan is running and you flush the toilet it can pull the fumes from the tank up the toilet opening and cause a problem. As long as you turn the fan off first no problem but you have to teach everyone that first. Good Luck.

Fantastic fan sells a 12V fan that is small and quiet and not expensive (Click here). I installed a 12V DC power jack in the bedroom and put the fan on the bureau and point it toward the bed or bounce the air off the ceiling. Problem solved.

I have a Fantastic Fan at the entrance to the bedroom and an exhaust fan in the bathroom and have never had a problem with tank smell. We run the fan all the time in warm weather. However I do keep the tanks clean keeping the chance of smell down.
As for a bedroom fan, we run a small whisper quite fan on the bathroom counter at night. It circulates the air just enough to keep the bedroom cool and we don't even hear it.

We have three Fantastic Vent fans and in the bedroom an overhead 12V ceiling fan which we use all the time. It is nice having the fan to add a cool breeze or just to circulate the air over the bed. The fan is a ceiling hugger but be careful when putting on a pull over shirt and reaching upward when the fan is running. Ouch
