I am planning on spending the next couple of months driving down the west coast starting in Washington. I am a 100 Trails member and am looking for recommendations on the best parks in Washington, Oregon and California.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I haven't stayed at any of the preserves in OR or WA but in Calif you should go to Lake of the Springs, San Benito, Morgan Hill for starters. Haven't stayed in SoCal at all either, but have heard good reports about Yosemite and Snowflower. I'm sure other members will chime in on this subject.

Lake of the Springs near Marysville is our favorite in N. California. It has a beautiful lake and a sandy beach swimming area and a dog beach where dogs can run free. Also, lots of deer and wild turkey roam the campground. Snowflower is nice and has a Alpine mountain feel and is especially a great place to go in the summer to escape California's central valley heat. Haven't seen the ones in S. California yet but plan to this Fall/Winter.

I am a very happy TT owner but I wouldn't call any of the parks I have stayed at in OR or WA 'best' - they are all very similar and if you like TT parks generally (like we do) then you will enjoy them. If you want 'resorts' then you will be disappointed.
We enjoyed Long Beach, WA - long walks on the beach about 1/4 mile from the park. Park was mainly 30 amp and would be very tightly packed if busy but OK if not.
South Jetty was 30amp and no sewer in the middle of woods but a great bunch of people.

The Pacific City preserve on the ocean is really nice. They have a covered swimming pool in case it rains. Be sure to have dinner at the Pelican Brew Pub just a little south of the preserve.
I'm partial to the Sunriver Preserve (south of Bend)....course, I live 16 miles from it. It's hot here this time of year.....but lots to see in the area.
If you have the membership that lets you use the Seaside preserve, that's a really nice preserve.....very easy access and the adult side is far separate from the family side. Seaside is a fun town to explore.

Washington State. People have different tastes in which preserves they like. Along the Coast, Try La Conner. We just left there. Great place. Anacorrtes and the town of La Conner are nearby. Farther south is Oceana and Long Beach. A little out of the way but can be nice. All three are right next to the ocean.
Oregon. WE like Seaside alot. Thats where we are right now. Whalers Rest is next. Pacific City and South Getty a distant 3rd and 4th.
Not many on the northern California Coast, Russian River is in the heart of the wine country
Try and hit some of these. These preserves get pretty busy in the summer. Book early

I pretty much agree with the above post. We are currently here
in La Conner TT which is our fav since it is close to every thing.
Pac City in Or is 2 on our list. Lake Of The Springs is nice when the weather is cooler in that area it will be near 100 there this week.
Snowflower near Truckee Ca is pretty. The last time we were there the mosquito's were so bad we left a week early. Don't really care that much for any of the TT in southern Calif. The TT outside of Santa Barbara is nice since it is close to SB

Northern California our favorites are LOTS and Ponderosa, down south we like Pio Pico and Soledad. In oregon South Jetty and Pacific City, my husband prefers PC and I prefer SJ so every year we trade off, both parks have bunnies running around, please drive slow.

ALL the TT's on the coast in OR are beautiful. We liked the one in Tillamook County best due to location - I think that's Pacific City. I don't think you can go wrong. We store our unit at Morgan Hill and we're headed there today for a couple days R&R. Even though it's only about 12 miles from home it still works as a nice vacation from real life!

In the fall of 2004, we did many of the TT Preserves from Washington to SoCal. All were good. Some "gooder" than others. Our biggest dilema was there were so many, Preserves, so close together, it was difficult to choose and still make reasonable mileage progress ... given the schedule we were on. We were commited to be in San Diego for a Navy "event."
We also have TT-member friends that did a south-to-north trip (SoCal to WA), followed by a north-to-south (WA to Socal) return. They "hop-scotched" every other TT Preserve going north and then stayed at the "missed" Preserves going back south. They loved trying to see them all.
