If you have the clear film on the front as you mentioned, do not use any cleaner or polish that has an abrasive in it as it will scratch the film. Alcohol will remove most marks from the film and 303 protectant will give it a new surface protection. Diamond Shield says only 303 on theirs.

Hi.. You were lucky you got hit with a piece of a flying tire and it left a black mark... We got hit with a whole flying tire and our Motorhome was a write-off. It hit on the drivers side just below the windshield, hit the firewall, bounced out and up hitting the top corner on the passengers side and flew up and over the MH landing in the ditch on the opposite side of the road. Fortunately, my DH was able to keep control of the MH and bring it to a stop on the side of the road. No one was hurt other then some abrasions on my DH leg. Sure hope you get your black marks off easily....

It made quite a bang, but after stopping to check, there was no dent or damage to the front...except a nasty looking black tire empression (about 5 inches tall).
We have that clear protection stuff on the front, so it didn't damage any paint, but I was wondering...How do I remove the black tire mark?
Has anyone else experienced this? and what did you use to remove the mark? Were you able to remove the mark? I have to be very careful not to damage the clear protective coating.
Thanks for any suggestions!
We had the same thing happen, car didn't want me to pass so rather than avoiding the rubber he ran over it to cut in front of me. Same "damage", just a big rubber mark. I just used the Dri Wash N Guard and it came right off. DON'T use anything abrasive on the mask, friend used one of the green 3M pads on his and it scratched the surface, still that way when he sold the rig.

Don't think all these encounters with road gators are only a few black spots. We had a truck shed one in an adjacent lane, and the car in front of us was able to pull over, but I couldn't due to traffic. We had the black marks down the passenger side from the front to the rear. In addition, both rear doors were bent beyond repair. Over $5000 damage.
Insurance did the job with the exception of the deductable, and we were headed to Red Bay for some other maintenance, so we got EXPERT work.

I had one thrown to me courtesy of a pickup pulling a utility trailer, which I luckily dodged. I'm not sure if it came off the truck or trailer, and it happended as he was passing me.
Oh, and I was on the Harley. So, if that thing did hit me, and it was close, I would have a large black streak on my forehead, and probably would not be typing this now!

Yikes! That's scary...and bad! Sorry to hear about that...guess we were lucky. It just flew up out of nowhere. And it happened so quickly and among traffic as someone was passing us. At first my husband thought it was a rock, but I said it was way too big.
We have Diamond Shield on the front...now I remember the name once someone mentioned it. So I will make sure not to use anything abrassive...and duh! good idea to see what the product itself suggests...but I REALLY appreciate all the suggestions...you never know and I always like to hear what people have actually used and have been successful with.
Those road gators do appear without warning, so I guess we all need to be careful out there!

Thanks again for the suggestions!!!
I saw a MH in for repairs after a lightning strike just ahead of her while it was traveling down the E-way. It blew a big chunk out of the pavement and bounced it into the passenger side of the windshield. Fortunately no one was hurt.
i think the truck that left the tire shoud have to stop and clean up the mess i saw one loose a tire once called him on the cb he told me where to go !o well
