As I head towards full time when I can justify Thousand Trails, what has your experience been getting a 45' coach into most TT sites and interior roads on the west coast, Calif, Or and WA? Thanks

We've been members since the mid 80's and used the system full time for over a year in 01,02. All the parks we've been in are accessable by big rigs. Some are tight and few have convenient pull thrus as the system is intended to be used as vacation stays not one niters. You need to watch for tree branches both low hanging and side swiping.
Not all have sewer hookups or 50a service at enough sites to insure that you'll get one most of the time. They do have "honey wagon" service at most parks. Check here if you want to talk about it with members.

TT would not be my first choice. This is based on 10 plus years of useage on the west coast. We now have Western Horizons and that has proven to be a better way to go for us.
E-mail for particulars if you care to.

There was a Camper who came in yesterday with a 42 ft MH here at La Conner Thousand Ts. He said he looked for over an hour trying to find a place where he could get his rig into. He ended up near us with his MH sticking out into the road about three ft. Most of the time I would think you could find a site in TT
Preserve as long as you did not come in FRIDAY or SAT night. I have never had a problem finding a site big enough for our 34 ft TT and LWB F250 TV

I agree - I'm a very happy TT member but 40' would be my limit - never had a problem with 38' (but I am very good at spatial awareness LOL) - 45' would be pushing it and cause you a whole lot of hurt.

Thanks for your comments. No surprise, all representatives from TT have stated lots of room, no problem. I like my coach paint job without tree branch marks.

Some of the parks you may have a limited choice of sites (Example the one I'm in now in Michigan) but... There are sites that can hold a 45 footer no sweat
In fact the site I'm on had two rigs on it for a day.. My 37'7" rig (plus my towed parked crosswise in front) and a friend's 35'er parked crosswise in back while we worked on his electrical system.. Found a problem too we did. One we'd never have found in his shop
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

TT sites are first-come, first-served. Often the problem is that while there may be sites large enough for a 45 foot rig, those sites may have been taken by rigs that are much smaller. They could have fit into other sites that you can't. But if they preferred the large site, too bad for the larger rigs. So the park may be only partially full, but every site that will fit you may be gone.
This also happens with the 50 amp sites. While on some of the site maps it requests that only those who require 50 amps should take those spots, it is only a suggestion and there will often be pop ups or tiny little trailers in the larger 50 amp sites.
I make no judgment as the fact is the sites are first-come, first-served, so it is anyone's right to choose any site.
That's just the way it is.
