Listen, wiseguy...youse know what I mean...
Had a quick/easy delivery and set up today, then headed east visiting a couple customers, then set up camp at Turtle Run Campground, Wading River, NJ at a great site/amenities/free wifi for $19/night with my Passport America card...then drove down to AC for a late buffet lunch basically free at Showboat Hotel & Casino ($3.37 w/comps. and coupon)...dropped a small sum at the slots, just got back to the campground and took a swim...home tomorrow morning, Nancy says the well pump for sprinklers isn't pumping water...always fun owning the home...

Everybody must be busy getting kids back to school or getting ready for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend.
Been kinda hectic here as well, installed another plow over the weekend, grabbed three more, chasing down parts, Looking at another sled trailer, just a little too much, I guess that's the price I must pay for playing all summer, lol.
We were hoping to join Steve and Liz at the Keene Pumpkin Festival, but something came up with the kids schedule so it looks like we're going to go camping somewhere the weekend after DB, still thinking southern Vermont.
Well if I don't get back here before Friday I hope everyone has a nice LD weekend!

I got a new piece of hardware and mobile internet provider recently from AutoNet Mobile...jury still out on how much better it is than my T-Mobile internet service. So far, the install was simple and connecting was too, speeds are adequate, maybe twice as good as my best T-Mobile speeds...400-500 kbps download speeds and 75-115 kbps upload speeds thru Verizon wireless network here at the Jersey Shore currently...the cellular network provider will change as you move from place to place, how well and how often to be determined.
Connectivity and speeds are my main concerns, till I hit the road again I won't know for sure if it's better or worse than what I had.
Gerry, can you explain a little bit more about this? I went to the site, but I didn't think it told me a whole lot. Do you know, if you don't take advantage of the 3 free months, can you get it for just a couple months and then cancel until next year? Or do you have to have a one year contract? We've been to a few campgrounds that didn't have wifi this year, or it was a bit aways from the camper. I'd love to hook up with my phone like I used to with Mobile office.
Thanks.
Doris

Doris, they do require a one year contract, and right now they give you an additional three months free (at the beginning I think, so 15 months total).
The hardware here costs you $500, so you have to factor that in as well.
If you are considering it, I would wait till I travel over the next few months and see some results, but it seems good so far.
One thing I need to consider are the changes in the hardware they may make, and how I can upgrade to better hardware and at what cost. Posts in the Technology Forum indicate they are on the outdated end of the technology, and I'm sure they will be upgrading, just at what cost to me.
One major benefit to me is that I don't have to use the SIM card out of my cell phone for the internet connection, so I can have my phone and internet connection at the same time, not possible with my T-Mobile service.
I was almost following what you were saying..but this is where you lost me LOL.
I'll see how you do with it first. But by next summer, I want to have something better n place, other than toteing the laptop all around to get a signal.
Thanks

The monthly price for one reason. Although the item Gerry is talking about has a large equipment cost, the low monthly cost will soon make it a better deal, and I had hoped I could just use it a few months a year, but looks like I can't, so that may not be the answer either. And I use a lot of bandwidth. My Verizon shop thought I would quickly outgrow the amount they allow.
I miss the old 'free' mobile office.

Because I hate Verizon and their plans are expensive. Not sure with Verizon if you have to remove the SIM card from your phone and install it in the aircard, I don't believe you have to. Plus, sharing it between multiple PCs is "do-able" creating a wireless ad hoc network and sharing the aircard w/Windows Internet Sharing, just not easy for the non-PC/Network RV people!

I'll keep everyone posted. Rally soon!
Looks good, please let us know the results and coverage. Is there a limit on usage?? DIdn't see one in my quick browse of site.
