We just returned from a camping trip and while grocery shopping at Walmart prior to going, we discovered a wonderful steak dinner. It is in a frozen food section (over by the meats) and is called "Meals Made Easy". We bought the steak dinner for two which included 2 8oz NY Strip steaks, 2 twice baked potatoes, mushroom garlic sauce and mixed vegetables. This meal was delicious and fast...less than 30 minutes from start to finish. I microwaved everything except the steaks, which I pan cooked in butter. I expect we'll make this a regular when camping from now on.

Kathy,

Thanks for the info. We are leaving in 3 weeks for a long 10,000 mile trip and I'm always looking for easy meals and Wal-Mart is everywhere.

I totally forgot to post the cost...$9.99. Pretty good I think. Also, the steaks are already seasoned and very tender.

Wow! I love it! This would be great on those days you come in from site-seeing and are too tired to cook and want more than a sandwich! Thank you! Was it a Walmart brand? I only ask because we don't have a Super Walmart near us. If it is another brand maybe I can find it locally.

Can't hardly beat $5.00 a piece for a steak dinner. I will be looking for these.

I'll have to keep my eye open for that. Unfortunately in my area Wal Mart's 25 miles apart may not carry an item that appears popular in other stores?

I looked for these dinners in my Super WalMart yesterday. They did not have the "Steak For 2" variety, but there were 3 others. I got a "Surf & Turf (for 1)", or something like that (with shrimp and steak, no potato or rice) - $10. I'll try it in the next couple of days and let you know how it is.

Michelle
