Hello
Me and my wife are going to Canada, BC, for about 8 weeks. Flying in and out of Seattle (arriving 4/9). We are thinking about buying or renting a campervan or motorhome and would need some tips.
Good websites for this kind of stuff?
Is it possible to find something, class C or class B with shower for around 3-5000 CAD?
Is it better to buy in Seattle? (problems with insurance?)
Shops in Vancouver or Seattle and best way to find local sellers?
Would be grateful for any help I can get.
Cheers Magnus

Magnus... my daughter used Canadream last summer, but the cost was high for a van-camper---about $250CD/day......you might check out some others at :

I'm sure some of our neighbours to the north will chime in.
Enjoy!

I think you might have trouble getting the MH registered without an address in this country. Why not buy in Canada? or you could rent in the US.

Fly to Seattle , rent a car to Vancouver.Keep everything in Canada if thats where your 8 weeks are being spent. You will pay at least $1200 a week for a rental.

I would prefer buying a MH or campervan in vancouver. The question is if it is possible to find something ok, without too much work, for a person without RV experience?

try this web site for rv rental in British Columbia.
Go rv'ing in Canada
It should shed some light on what you want. As the other poster said, get into Canada, then rent. Usually you cannot take a rental car from one country to another..Dona

Back in 2005 we talked about renting an RV for a one-month trip around the Western U.S. After a lot of research we decided that it was just WAY too expensive for that kind of trip. I think Ozman is right with the $1200 a week minimum rental. If I remember right, renting the rig we wanted for that month was going to cost us over $6000. We kept the money and used it to purchase an RV instead.
Whatever way you travel, I hope you have a wonderful trip!

Buying the Motorhome is easy. Selling it is the challenge.

This site will give you some idea of the cost of RVs in Canada.

Do not forget license, insurance, sales tax.
The problem is with your time constraint, you will have a problem selling before you go home!
Although expensive, I believe that renting is your best option.
I would hate to see you ruin your trip with a broken RV, four or five thousand will not buy much in Canada .
Life is short,Death is long,
Take a vacation.
