Can anybody tell me the model lineup (lowest to highest) for Winnebago and Itasca for 2001 and what year they changed the names? We are looking into purchasing a used one and I do not know which model is "higher" than others and the major differences are between them. I know some have roof air conditioners and other have basement air, etc...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I looked at that before posting this, but it lists the models in alphabetical order not the lowest to highest model.

If all the year listings are the same as my 1997 Luxor, the listings my be lineup listed bottom to top from the top of the page. ie in 1997 the Winnebago Luxor was the top of the lineup but listed at the bottom of the list. May not be this simple so you'll want to read the PDF's.

In that era, there were two levels of C's, three lines of gassers, and one DP each for Winnebago and Itasca brand. Then there was the Ultimate brand with two lines of larger DPs, which later evolved into the current 2nd and 3rd level WIT branded DP lines.

With your +/- stipulation, look at 2002 particularly. 2002 was the model year that Winnebago started moving toward the new, politically correct, model designations, and thus had an overlap of old and new model lines, and saw the introduction of new entry-level Sightseer and Sunova lines.

If you are interested in which models have what features, the brochures are useful, and it doesn't take long to study all of them. If you can't figure out the ranking from comparing features, then the ranking shouldn't matter. In the upper models of the gassers, it is like trying to figure out Buick vs Oldsmobile; that was never settled withing GM corporate, but all the buyers thought the make they chose was the better of the two.

I think it was the year 2000 when Winnie/Itasca had the Itasca Horizon as the top of the line DP and the Winnie Vectra was its counterpart. The difference between the two lines is the trim. More stuff comes standard on the Itasca, but it costs a little more and there is a difference if colors.
I suggest you call the factory service line and ask them, they are quite helpful. The number is 800-537-1885.

You mention roof vs. basement air so I'll guess your talking about gas class A's. It was Brave, Adventurer, and Chieftan, "low" to "high" (Sunrise, Suncruiser, Sunflyer on the Itasca side). It had been that way for a couple years. In 2002 they added a new entry level unit, the Sightseer (Sunova), and stayed that way for a few years.

my 1999 winnie chieftain was the last year for roof air IIRC. doesn't bother me a bit. that year the chieftain was top of the line for a gasser.

Please go to Winnebago Forum and post your question there. There should be someone who has the year models you are asking about that can assist you. Good luck.
