I stayed at The Birches Campground on Lake Cobbosecontee (probably misspelled that)just outside of Augusta. It was ok. The sites away from the lake are larger than the ones close to the water. One downside was that there was a rather long dirt road to access the campground entrance.
Check out Beaver Brook in North Momouth, they have lake front sites and 100ft pull throughs. I will be there for a few days as of Sunday.
