Hi Jayberg,
There will be a "potluck" per-se on Friday night, which will be the usual fire-hot dogs-mountain pies-kinda event. Since this rally is so small, we were leaving things kinda open (tends to be how we roll anyway) for people to do what they want, but we still have a few plans. Manny updated the first page to reference a few of the changes that have occurred.
Saturday in the late morning/early afternoon (as everyone knows you can't expect me to get out of bed before 10am), we'll all carpool over to the firetower/scenic overlook (about a 5-10 minute drive). The view is fantastic if you've never seen it before. You can climb to almost the top of the fire tower and and there's a great little path over to a neat rock to look at Cook's Forest.
Since we planned the Rally the Kittanning Firemen's Band (a marching/concert band that Manny plays in) scheduled a concert for Saturday late afternoon. Larry's a fan and a few of the people have expressed interest in driving to the concert (it's about 1.25 hours away). Saturday night we'll do that and stop somewhere as a group on the way home. We'll be carpooling down if you're interested.
That's pretty much the extent to the "plans" of the rally.

Thanks for the info. After I posted I saw more details on the Ohiorally site. I haven't been to cooks forest since I was a kid and I'm anxious to climb that tower again.....hopefully these bones can still do it! See ya then.

Manny/Leslie, I heard recently that there is a great place in Clarion to get apple dumplings!! Don't know if we will be near there or even the name of the place.
Life is too short to worry about how short life is.

Larry, not sure where in Clarion has the apple dumplings but I think we're planning on eating dinner Saturday on the way back from the concert at a great place in downtown Clarion, hopefully it's the same place!

We are currently in a holding pattern and our plans for this weekend are up in the air...
Tony's uncle passed away this morning. He received a new lung on Labor Day and appeared to be making an exceptional recovery. We still don't know 100% of the details but it appears he had a heart attack. He was at the Cleveland Clinic, supposed to go home Friday.
Funeral plans have not been disclosed yet and I am leaving the final decision up to Tony. So we may or may not make the rally...
