Hi all - we're trying out E.G. Simmons park in Ruskin this weekend. We did the Drive-Thru a couple of weeks ago, and it looks fine - especially for the price! Anyhow - their NO ALCOHOL signs are pretty prominent. Are they like most State Parks? In other words, keep it discreet and don't be an idiot and you're OK? Or will they really kick you out for a beer? I respect that they have rules, but just want to know what to expect.

We live in Sarasota and go to E.G. quite a bit. We drink beer for medicinal purposes only and they are very understanding. In fact we will probably be there this wkend. There is a drive-in movie 2mi. away, great place for fishing, boating, kayaking, or just sitting on the beach. E-mail me if you need anymore info.
Yes it's a county park ( Hillsborough Cty) -- the drive-in has first run movies too. ( Had the new Batman immediately upon it's release). Head over to Jeff's fish house on Shell point Rd for a fish sandwich ( only open Thur,Fri,Sat)
