Poisonous vapor so bad, researchers recommend families no longer use CFLs

The results were stunning: Breaking a single compact fluorescent bulb on the floor can spike mercury vapor levels in a room – particularly at a child's height – to over 300 times the EPA's standard accepted safety level.

WOW! Talk about "An Inconvenient Truth"!
These are the same "scientists" who are protecting us from the ravages of that nasty chemical DDT! You remember that one, the one that could save millions of lives each year IF properly used!

I think it is time to start buying and hoarding incandescent bulbs!
Let's see, where can I store them? Oh, yeah, that will work. NO, I won't tell you where!

I would recommend removing all CFLs from the home. Better yet, have a specialist do it.

Once the CFLs have been safely removed, install a HEPA filtered closed ventilation system. Seal all openings in the dwelling, and stock up on a years worth of organic food. Turn off cell phones, game boys, and televisions. Wear armored vest, padded outer clothing, and a approved helmet. Sit in a straight back chair, and listen to soothing music to keep your pulse and blood pressure at acceptable levels.

Then, and only then, can one feel just a little safe. Constant attention to your environment and physical condition is of the utmost importance.

HEY, HOLD ON THERE. Didn't they tell us to replace all the old style bulbs a while back.
Didn't I post some time ago about having to call the Hazmat Teams if you break one, so you are not fined or jailed for not following the Recommended Government Guidelines?
Others here also made statements about these KILLER LIGHT BULB from outer space.

Luckily I saved all the OLD UN-GREEN bulbs for just such an occasion.

After reading the article...

OH NO!!! We're all gonna DIE!!!!!

{Free clue: Don't break a CFL bulb}

FYI: I've been using these types of bulbs since 1987 {PL-13} and have not accidentally broken a single one of them, at home or at work.

Thanks y'all I work for GE. Chicken Little has been telling everybody the sky is fall for a long time.
The next time you have a minute take a look at the GE CFL bulb and see if you can find any mention of the bad stuff. If you do you will be holding a very old bulb.

You mean like the 22W circular thing in the reading lamp on my nightstand? Yep, it's a GE...and yep, it's old.

CFL's are in all lamps where it's practical.

Gee, and I remember when we put mercury on dimes by hand to make them shiny.
