I think I would go with 3 good quality deep cycle 12 volt batteries. Especially if you can not find ventilated space and secure mount for a 4th. Best of lick.

Yeah, sorry, I wrote it backwards.
My original point stands, however, you can't use (3) 6V batteries in an RV; you have to have an even number of 6V batteries.

While the configuration may be possible, it is likely that the single 6-volt battery will be doing most of the work, i.e., providing the most current of the 3 since the 2 in parallel will be providing the other half of the current draw.
Clear as mud? I wouldn't suggest this configuration. You will find that the single battery will drain much faster than the other 2.
I think you mean two 6 volt batteries in parallel with the third in series to make 12 volts. The way you said it would total 6 volts.
Either way, not a good idea

Ooops. Yup, I meant it the way you said it.

Not a good idea EVEN if you straighten out the wiring terminology.

Good quality true 12 V deep cycle batteries are VERY expensive. You won't find them at Costco or Sams, you'll need to find a supplier.
The so called "deep cycle" ones you see locally will be a Marine battery which is a combination starting and house battery. They are NOT deep cycle 12 volt batteries.

You need two sixes and a twelve OR three twelves.
If you somehow have three sixers figure out a way to fit a fourth or trade one for a twelve volt. I found with a single box to hold four six volt batteries it only takes the space of three twelve volt in separate boxes.

My motorhome has a tray which holds three coach batteries.
Due to a problem, or problems, with the original dealer, the original batteries had to be replaced.
I purchased three Trojan SCS225, 12-volt, deep cycle batteries and have been quite pleased with the service from these batteries.

Jerry didn't mention voltage, just amperage.
