The TV in the bedroom has a bad picture kind of fuzzy. It works fine on DVD but on the satellite and antenna its no good. I have checked connections on the box up front and even took out the TV to check connections.I hope it is something simple. Any ideas from the learned body? Thanks.

Is the DVD player up front going through the switching box, or is in the bedroom area hooked directly to the TV. Also make sure your antenna boost is turned off when using cable or satellite or you will have a fuzzy picture.

Here is a check sheet I use when switching from one input to another. I have had the fuzzy picture more than once.

Antenna
Boost On
Switch Box Set to ANT
Scan Channels on TV for TV

Cable
Boost Off
Switch Box Set to ANT
Scan Channels on TV for CATV= cable TV

Sat
Boost Off
TV set to Channel 3
Switch Box Set to AUX

Antenna Boost
On for TV antenna
Off for Cable
Off for Sat.

switch the outputs at the switching box between front and rear and see if the problem reverses or not.

I assume the DVD is not using a modulated RF signal. I would temporarily connect a long coax from the antenna input to switch box using a barrel coupler and to rear TV. This will bypass switch box and permanent cable. If that looks good reconnect antenna to switch box and move temporary cable to rear TV out of switch box to check switch box. If that looks good it is the cable from switch box to rear TV. Check terminations at both ends.

I have found that the TV signal sent to the back TV is power split to the TV coaxial hookup in the bay under my awning. Nice, actually, but the outside TV and the back TV will always see the same signal. If yours has a splitter like this, that could be your problem -- you lose signal strength to the back TV.

This is sometimes a problem for me when I am running off the over the air (batwing) antenna; sometimes with cable. Not a problem with VHS or DVD player or satellite box. It all depends on the strength of the signal being pumped into the switch box. If you use cable input, what's the signal like?

Is your sat box near the switch box? Is there any way to boost the signal out of the sat box? You might be able to get a Radio Shack signal booster - be sure of the connectors you have.

Good point. 50 - 100 foot of coax from Home Depot is cheap and is a good test.

Mine is wired the same as Jerry's and I did notice more noise than I wanted in the rear TV. I have a commercial line amp in there now that could feed 1/2 a campground.
