Another big kudos to this cg. We just came back from a wonderful weekend at this park. This was the first time we have been camping this season. Sorta hard to believe, we usually have been out several times by now. With our son joining the Army and several other things, we just haven't been camping this year. I needed this getaway so bad. Alot has been going on at Fall Creek. Lots of remodeling and sprucing up of the sites. If you want a great getaway, try it. We were also able to get my favorite site-218.

Cindi, It has been a couple of years since we have camped at Fall Creek Falls. It is one of our favorite places and I think one of Tennessee's jewels. Been wanting to go back to see how the remodeling looks like.
I know it might be hard to see your son go, but we thank him for his service.
FCF is the best state park we have been to yet. My wife and I hiked about 35 miles in three days and there are still a lot of trails we never saw. Will definitely be back to visit again.
Cindy,
I know exactly how you feel, our daughter is navy and leaving the 20th for spain for 2-4 years..hard to accept, but you are not alone, we are here for you!
We are here at River Plantation in the Smokies, for the last few days the park has been 75 percent empty (my guess lol)...anyway, considering last weekends packed house its almost spooky..
Glad you were able to get away, God bless you and your family and tell your son we are so proud and humbled by his sacrifice to our great country.
Take care and write if you need someone to listen!

Yes, it has been very hard to think of him going to Iraq or Afghanistan, but I am very proud of him. Thanks!

Wow! 2-4 years. I truly thank your daughter for her service to our Country. Seth is not at the deployment stage yet. He has been at Ft.Benning in training for 7 months. One good thing about training, he is not deployed. I told him to take all the training he could get. Thanks, I may be sending you a PM when the going gets tough. River Plantation is nice, isn't it?

Yes its nice, I get a bit aggravated at the people walking their dogs right up to our camp, but I guess that happens everywhere. The mountains are beautiful, and it is not crowded here at all like it was in June the last time we came, we've had 7 days of perfect weather and hate to leave it ...we are heading home tomorrow dang it lol..
