Twenty years ago at a sporting event held right on the shores of Lake Michigan I made a vow that someday I would attend that event in a MH.
This was to be my most important pilgrimage as a full-timer.
I fulfilled that vow last week. Only thing is my generator decided to pick that week of all weeks not to work. AND,I now know how to 'really' boondock without a gen and how to arrange for repairs while on the road!
Here's what the repair man found to be the problem. He came around the back of the MH and asked me if I thought we were in for a long winter?

The gen air cleaner was jammed packed with corn.
The same year I decided to put the house up for sale to full time the farmer that owned the 10ac next to me decided to rip up the beautiful field of alfalfa and planted corn and that was the year the MH and me sat waiting for it to sell.
Amazing to think how long it took a mouse to drag each one of those kernels of corn from 5 acs away and methodically pack it into my air cleaner.

I have heard of corn burning heaters. I have heard of corn derived fuel.
I have never seen a gen set that could be run on raw corn.

I guess you have not either
Keep Em comming...I like to read your posts.

that is too funny... Two springs ago, when I went to pull the TT out for the first time, I found my battery box jammed full of acorns.. Had some signs of arcing, was glad it didn't catch on fire..
They are creative little creatures..

I wonder how ticked off the little guy must have been when I pulled out down the driveway with his private pantry of food?
All I know is that it cost me $148.00 to remove those stink'n 40 kernels of corn!
