You'll have to pay sales tax, but that's all. Military personnel are exempt from paying personal property type taxes in states other than their Home of Record. It's part of the Servicemember's Civil Relief Act (SCRA). I got tax bills every year from the Virgina city I lived in and every year I sent them my LES with a note that I don't have to pay.

Folks, I have a similar question. I tried digging this out of the internet but couldn't do it. I can register my truck and fiver in any of 3 states, NV, CA, or AZ. Anyone know the best deal out of the 3?
