There is nothing in Mexico that you can't find in the USA. We prefer to stay in our own great country where there are still millions of places to go and see that we haven't been to yet.

Nick Wildwood:

A very narrow view of the world. If everyone thought the same as you world travel would cease. It is not a matter of one country being better than another. It is more that every country is different and you can learn from your travel experiences. One could apply your theory to a city or a state and say: I never want to leave Tucumcari. We have everything I could ever want.

And they would be entitled to that opinion.

I don't think I'll limit myself to any particular place or Country. I will exercise maximum common sense when visiting any questionable areas in foreign countries like the USA or Mexico and generally we try to avoid questionable areas all together. We have enjoyed falling asleep in San Diego and Houston while we listed to the gentle crackle of automatic weapons fire in the distance. Although I can't ever remember the sound of a gun shot in Mexico I am sure it happens. Avoid trouble spots anywhere and for the most part you'll have an acceptable risk.

They certainly are. But surely you agree that an uninformed and "trollish" statement such as, There is nothing in Mexico that you can't find in the USA, is begging for a response.

I think if you would get out and look, you'd be surprised. Mexico is not a carbon copy of the US. We see plenty there we wouldn't find in the US, and vice versa. But then, how would you know?

All I can say is "Thank God Mexico and The U.S. are absolutely unalike".

Wow, I was a kid in overalls with long hair (right, it was a long time ago). I may not be rich in money, but I thank God every day for the opportunities I have had to travel to and live in Mexico and work in Central and South America. It changed my view of everything I had learned in school and even at home. My world was very small and now I can see so much more.

I'm sorry that people who have the means to know other places don't take advantage of the opportunity to know, learn and share these wonderful experiences.

I remember my mother's first visit to Mexico at age 75, she was amazed at how similar we all are and was able to break many paradigms about people and the world. And that was just one country.

You are the only one who said anything about better. I just said I prefer RVing in my own country because there are places that I haven't been to yet here. I have been to Canada and Mexico.

I prefer my travel experiences not to include GETTING KIDNAPPED.
