Just ordered a 2008 Holiday Rambler Savoy 29RKD. Where is a good place to check prices for insurance? I know our auto dealer is probably not the best choice.

Thanks

Your auto insurance carrier is the first place to get a quote. Also your home owners insurance carrier. If you have an insurance agent you should get a quote from him. National Interstate, Progressive, and Foremost are good places to also get quotes.

Try starting here.

I couldn't beat their prices. I have not made a claim, so I'm not qualified to talk about that end yet, and hope I never will be. Pay particular attention to replacement for total loss when you look at the different companies.

Good luck!!!

We have ours through our auto & homeowners company as well. I've been receiving information from the Good Sam Club and Camping World about RV insurance through GMAC and it offers the ability to remove the Collision for the months that it is in storage (keeping the comprehensive active in case of fire, weather damage, etc.). It also offers "full replacement cost payment" for the first 5 years you own the trailer. Does anyone have this coverage and what do you think of it??

I found GEICO was the best deal for me, cost the same as my statefarm quote w/ all the discount given.... multi-line, good driver etc.

The Geico coverage is a lot better than the Statefarm policy. it is about 1/2 of what GMAC was going to charge.

The big difference is Statefarm wants add the trailer as part of the homeowner policy's vs. Geico will insure the trailer as a stand alone. and it also has a few $ of Vacation coverage.

I love Warren Buffet.

I got the best rate at Progressive. Was $150.00 less than dealers insurance offered with better coverage. Beat Geico by about $20.00

If you are financing your unit, make sure to get GAP insurance from your insurance carrier, and not buy it from the dealer. My insurance only charged about 15.00 per year for GAP insurance. The dealer from where I bought my 5th wheel wanted HUNDREDS of dollars. With the depreciation of these things being so bad, if you ever total your camper, you will be happy to have GAP. Just in case you didn't know, GAP will pay for your loan balance if your unit is totalled no matter it's current worth.

State farm gave us a great rate. We have all of our vehicles/toys and house insured with them.
