I haven't really seen this in the forum, yet....

I have a Reese removable 5th wheel hitch that stays in the truck 90% of the time.

Whenever I want to remove it, I know I'd better take my ball peen hammer with me. Three of the pins come out with relative ease, but there is one, and it's always the same one, that is a pain in the rear to get out. I've examined everthing, and it looks the same as all the others.

Any ideas, suggestions on how to get this improved?

Mine does the same thing. I took a small file and touched up the slot, helped a little but it's still tougher to get out than the other three.

If your talking about the four pins that hold the hitch to the bottom rails, mine is the same way. After experimenting, I discovered the holes wont line up exactly right until I push the hitch laterally a mm or so with a hammer tap. The pin then slides right in.

I have a 16K and can remove all 4 without any force - just a little wiggling.

Ditto here---have the same hitch, one pin harder to get out than the others. I use the same hammer to tap it loose that DW sometimes uses on me to get her way.

I bought 1/2 inch pins at Tractor Supply with a handle on one end, and bought a set of matched locks that would fit through the hole on the other end.

Had the same problem plus hitch was sticky in the rails too. Noticed the rails were slightly off. Loosened them up and repositioned them, now both hitch and pins work nicely in the rails

I have the same hitch and I have yet to take it out but, will need to in the next month or so. How exactly does the hitch come out? It looks like there are nuts that tighten down the hitch on the pins?
