Go with the slide or you will be sorry!!! The slide makes a trailer feel so much roomier! Our first trailer did not have a slide and we only kept it for a season. If it is raining or cold out and you want to spend some time on the trailer it is real cramped without the slide!!!!

Sal, go with the slide. End of statement. Period.
The wife and I rented a non-slide unit before we bought. No comparison. The weight difference is a non-issue. DO IT!

I think you need have 3 decisions to make:

1. Is a slide important to you?

2. Is the difference between a 2004 & a 2007 important to you?

3. Is the $3000 important to you?

As for us . . .

1. We've had 0 slides, then 1, then 2, then 0 again, and now 2 again. Which were our favorites has nothing to do with the slide count. Life is easier with a slide if you have a big dog, though.

2. Age isn't important, unless you're going back to the mid-90's which we feel was the sweet spot in RV quality for many builders.

3. Money is always important. It it wasn't you wouldn't have asked the question in the first place.

We have owned 2 Class A MHs, and a Class C MH, none of which had slides. We now have a TT with a slide and will never have anything else without one.

I would go for the Jayco with a slide. If I were to do it again I would get a slide.

In our opinion- DON'T BUY JAYCO...unless you live within two minutes of their service center....because it'll be where you'll be storing it...we own a '08..bought in March- and have NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS with it..... don't do JAYCO!

It really depends what you plan on pulling it with and how you plan to use it. The slide will add weight and the slide is sometimes a problem in some of the smaller state park campgrounds that we like to frequent.

If you like to spend time indoors, slide. if you like to spend time outdoors, no slide.

We have an '03 Jay Flight 29'BH with no slide and has worked extremely well for our family of four.

Well went to look at the Jayco today and got a really good deal on it. I pick it up Monday. I figure, we are moving up from a 2000 21ft hybrid to the Jayco which is a big jump. If we out grow it in a few years I'll go for the slide then.
The price was under where we wanted to be and the camper is like new.
