I have a Fuzion 302 that does not have a generator, it came prepped for one with battery cables, remote start cable & fuel lines. I now want to put one in and am a little confused on exactly what I need to buy for the install, I am getting very little help from anyone I have asked.

My issue is, I know I need an exhaust tailpipe kit but on the spec sheet for the Onan in the accessories section it also has an exhaust tube available. I don't know if I need the tube aswell as the tailpipe kit or not. There is also an installation template accessory available. I don't know what other accessories I am required to get for the installation and I don't know why they are called accessories if I am required to have them but there you go.

Does anyone have first hand experience on what you have to buy in addition to the generator to complete the isntall

The installation template will make life a lot easier. It will show where and how big the holes need to be for mounting and the holes for cooling air discharge and exhaust exit. Ask your supplier about exhaust options.

Slap it in and take it and the muffler to a muffler shop.

The Onan generator is ok but Honda makes a generator like the Onan that is water cooled, and is made to be permanently mounted and the dimensions are very close to the same size Onan, if I was in your situation I would look at the Honda.I think you can print the instalation directions off the Honda web site
