Never had a problem with it on my two axle TT, but I never really got it equaled out on the trip home yesterday with the Winners Circle.

It would either be way to light on the brakes and the truck was doing too much work, or it would be a little stronger on the rear with the trailer doing 10-20% more work than it should have. I tried it on setting two(25% intial) and setting one(14% intial) boost and seemed that setting two would jerk the truck too much. Setting one seemed good, but couldn't get it equalized. This was in stop in go and hiway driving through Denver yesterday. I do have to say, the breaks on my new Winners Circle mean! They can drag my truck to a stop in no time. I just want smooth and fast stopping action.

Mav the directions on setting it are pretty helpful. Find a slow street or parking lot, get up to speed - I think its 20MPH and use the lever on the brake control to apply the brakes. Adjust accordingly. I had the integrated setup in my F350, but I use the Prodigy now in 2 vehicles and have used it in two previous - in all cases a little driving around at lower speeds allowed me to adjust the settings right. With the Prodigy I found I would use the boost setting at highway speeds but not in town.

I find the boost setting is only really good at highway speeds. If it works well there, it's too strong for stop and go driving. I either reduce the setting or set boost a zero once I get off the highway, particularly if the brakes are hot. I think this is part of running a heavy trailer, and I just work with it. Still like the Prodigy a lot, by far and away the best controller I've used.

Edit: If you're running with brand new brakes - adjust them. Even if the trailer is new, you may need to dial them in a bit, and they may need a few hundred miles to bed in a bit.

Y-guy, I have tried that, but even after setting the output to just shy of lockup, it's still doing this. Maybe it's as Brian says. The trailer is new as of yesterday. How do you adjust the brakes?

Try setting it to off or 0 while setting up.

Didn't think it mattered, but it's worth a shot.

When the brakes get warm, a lot changes. I do not think there is anything you can do about it. If you set it initially with the brakes hot, it may not work very well when they cool off down the hiway. I think we may notice it more here in SoCal because of our stop-n-go traffic on Friday evenings heading out to the dez or Glamis. I reset the boost to 1 or 0 when in traffic.

Makes sense to me. Had most of my problems after stop and go traffic.
