OK, I sent the first post about long stays and using jacks under slides, and THEN told my wife. Obviously, This was in the wrong order. So.... As we will be hooked up in one site for over 3 months, are there any good suggestions from any of you on things you will need to do or watch when actually living in your RV for this long at a time. Honestly, we have been traveling a decent amount, but our average trip is from 4-days to 10-days so far. We are leaving next month for Baja California where we will stay until March or April. When we get there I will put the jacks down, slides out and that is how we will stay. I will change the engine oil and filter shortly after we arrive. Don't like to sit there that long with dirty oil in the crankcase. Oh, and I will cover the tires.

Jacks under slides? Are you talking about leveling jacks or putting jacks under the slide outs? The latter is a no no.

Pull in, level, hook everything up and enjoy your stay for 3 months or so. We are full timers and workampers so we park for up to 6 months at a time, living in our MH year round. I would recommend running your generator 1 hour under load monthly to keep it in good working order. NO jacks under the slides. If you were in a TT or 5er then maybe but in a MH you don't need them.

Enjoy

Some trailer manufacturers tell you NOT to put jacks under the slides. If in doubt, check with your manufacturer.

Just keep your black tank valve closed and open it only when about 3/4 full. And I like to park on boards to get the tires off the ground.

You already know about jacks under slides from your previous thread.

No one mentioned cranking the MH up once in a while... do you folks not worry about the motor seals?
Just wondering. RonA
