We just got the new fiver and are enjoying setting it up for our first trip. The question came up this evening of how do you store your drinking glasses when you are travelling? We have some plastic tumblers that would be sure to fall over and move around if not held down some way. How does everyone else do it? Also where do you store them?

well things never stay in one place, I have plastic cups that stack, so i wedge them inbetween paper plates, pots etc, maybe throw a bundle of paper towels or napkins up there,or stuff them in some pots, neatness doesnt work when pulling, I just have to know where to find them then ill straighten up once we start using stuff. Its all about preference. in all actuality the cups seem to be the only things out of wack when i open cabinets,,thats funny and your asking about them,,lol, anyway try some small boxes for hauling see how it works. We store our glasses in a box with dividers that keeps them in place. It also acts as a divider fot the cabinet it is in.

Our cabinets are so full it is not possible for anything to move or tip over.

For stackable, plastic cups, I just wedge them in between rolls of paper towels, in the cabinet above one of the sofas, which is also where they are stored.
For glass, I use some of those cardboard drink holders that you get at McD's or BK with take out. The drink holders stay in the shelf all the time and this is also where the glasse are stored. And they are free!
I have not lost a glass while in motion. Dropping them in the sink while washing dishes? Yes. lol

Our 'good' wine glasses we keep in a box with dividers, our plastic ones we simply lie down; it keeps them from falling over anyway.

I have a small wooden wine bottle case that I lined with felt to keep 4 wine glasses in. The rest of my tumblers and such are plastic and all of my plasticware gets stowed in my microwave oven and I lock things down in there with the dish towels while traveling.
I made 4 cup covers for my coffee mugs out of some neoprene collapsable koozies that I had gotten for free at the local hardware store. I slip those on the mugs while packing and leave the mugs hanging from their normal hooks.

I lay our cups and glasses in a basket. Well really I toss them into a basket. Plastic has its advantages.
