Has anyone found a source for smaller tubes of caulk we use on our TC's. I pay $9.00 for a 10oz. tube that goes in a caulking gun, use just a small amount for a small crack. The next time I go to use the caulk it has cured in the nozzle and it can't be used. I'd like to find the caulk in 5oz. squeeze tubes that I can seal after each use.

When you get done, just squeeze a small blob out. It will dry and keep the rest of the tube from drying out.
When you're ready to use the caulk, break the blob off.
GE has recently introduced a new line of products called Caulk Singles that come in a handly 1.25 oz dispenser-pack.
They are really convenient and IMHO are a must-have in your camper toolkit.
The Caulk Singles are only available in silicone (clear & white) and white paintable acrylic, so they are not appropriate sealants for an EPDM roof, but they are an excellent choice for many other RV caulking needs.
A month or so ago I was at Ace Hardware and saw this little plastic corkscrew-like thing that was called a caulk-saver (or something like that. It was orange colored plastic and cost about two bucks. So I used it on a tube of clear silicon sealant. When I pulled it out a week later it snapped off and the clear sealant came out amber colored from the melted orange plastic. So I guess my point is: don't bother with one of those.
I normally just use a large 16p nail but if the blob technique works that sounds like the way to go.
