I am happy they do this, get in line and wait your turn in stead of hauling butt to the front then trying to merge. If I was in a big rig like theirs, I would do the same thing.

OHHH, OK, SUREEE. Keep nailing those truckers smokies, lol

Haven't seen any of the truckers nailed by the police and there is usually a police car, lights flashing, sitting where the lane closure actually happens. I have seen one jerk, who was in such a rush that he pulled over and passed the trucks on the inside breakdown lane, get ticketed, But that's the only ticket I've seen issued in the many times we've cheered the trucks on.

Of course, this is a limited observation in only Georgia, North and South Carolina and Florida - the states in which we travel most frequently.

So, are you a "merge as soon as possible in hopes of keeping traffic flowing smoothly" or one of the "shoot to the front of the line and cut off those who have been waiting patiently" drivers?

Just curious.

I love it when they do it!! Its the self-centered, selfish morons that speed down the lane that is closed then try to butt in that causes the stop and go. If everyone started slowly merging where the first sign is posted then everyone could roll through the one lane portion at 25 MPH instead of rolling ten ft, stopping, roll ten more feet, etc.

Did anyone forget that most everything you buy from food to clothing is brought to your favorite store by truck? We have had very little trouble with truckers and most are very polite and good drivers. Better than the people that cut in front of us to make a right turn! Even when we are towing or pull out right in front of us when towing! Most truckers will help when they can. They will report slow downs ahead and accidents on CBs.
No my DH is not a trucker and never was. I have a lot of respect for truckers and they have a difficult job! Hours driving through all the idiot drivers. Time away from their families.

It's amazing how many people on here think that two wrongs make a right. Actually it's very sad.

It's not the truckers responsibility to try and control traffic. When they try and do this, it's more dangerous for everyone around them and they should be sited by the police.

From living here in Oregon I have lost almost all respect for truckers in general. They are worse than the people trying to get ahead of the slow pokes. People in car see this are are taking matters into their own hands (as stated in my previous post) and I am happey they are doing so. If it's okay for the truckers to try and control traffic, then it's okay for the people is cars to try and do it too.
