Another interesting project:
The circular berms around my new trees were problematic. The wild grass (bermuda, that grew and spread by itself) sent runners all the way up on berm and into the mulch around the trunk. The mower would pick up dirt and mulch if I ran it up on the berm, and the string trimmer would scatter cuttings all over the mulch. So, I re-did the whole thing, tilling all around so I could remove all the grass roots. I used bender board, in straight lines, and I placed a strip of 6" heavy-duty weed-control matting all around such that the new St Augustine turf (work-in-progress) will only grow up to the mat. This way, I will be able to run one set of mower wheels on the mat, and make quick work of mowing around the trees (all in straight lines).

.............
Yes, there are a few statues, one cat, one Lhasa Apso (dog), as you know I love cats & dogs , a pair of smaller cranes, and a couple of pigs... mom collected pigs (long story).
Here is a picture of the front flower bed this spring, you might notice the "snow balls" from my beloved Papa's garden, they date back to the late 1950's and I've transplanted them into a garden in every home I've owned:
Here is a similar shot, taken the other day. The impatients, hibiscus, etc., are all grown up but the snow balls are about done for the year:
A "before" picture of the front flower bed, with all the leveling efforts visible. We had three truck loads of dirt hauled in to fill in where we had to dig up all those limestone boulders. Some of the rocks are HUGE and weigh a lot!
I enjoyed your picture Willie, nice work!

very nice pictures. Cat, looks like you have not slowed down since the move in.
All the others are great also.
This is the last home project I did. Replaced the previous patio tent, hail storm got it, with a slightly larger one and added a light.
took the old one down, what was left of it.

...!
That's a lovely setup, but I can't help noticing that you've raised the soil level nearly to the top of the foundation, which is an invitation for termites, carpenter ants, rodents, and all sorts of other varmints. You might want to take that down a notch or two. Then if you run out of things to do, you can come and build one of those at my house!

Please tell your gorgeous wife that I like her flowers.
I'll let her know. She has rediscovered "Miracle Gro" this year and raised a bumper crop of flowers. The ones on the patio cover are just a few.
