Hi,
I am thinking about a month long stay, Gulf Shores, AL in April. Any information about typical April weather?

I hear that April is "spring break" in Gulf Shores. Family type school vacations or the more dreaded out-of-control college age partying?

Now, where to stay. No kids, 1 cat. 38' class a with toad. Prefer FHUP, w/cable (no sat). Like the beach, but willing to drive to get there. Like a little space between sites. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kathy

We stayed at Anchors Aweigh and had a great time. Newer park so no trees. Very clean and owners are really great. Close to outlet mall and Lamberts. Check it out on Rv park reviews. Have a great time.

Lambert's Cafe - Home of the Throwed Rolls. Best home style cooking I've ever had.

I've stayed at Luxury RV and and liked it but I don't know about that time of year. I will also give a vote for Lambert's. When I order dinner I always order what I want for dinner tomorrow since you can never eat it all and have to take it home.

We went to Gulf Shores in July this year, we were there last year during spring break. We always stay at the state park, but we don't need cable, we just use our antenna and get about 15 stations, all the networks, plus a couple of weather channels. We drove through all the rest of the parks. Anchors Aweigh is nice and if I didn't stay at the SP, that is probably where we would stay. Luxury RV Park was not luxurious at all. They have a pool and cable, but the sites are TINY. We saw many, many campers that had their slides out and the slides were within several inches of the next campers awnings. Not for me!! The state park's sites are about 30-40' wide. Plenty of room between you and your neighbor. Also, the state park campground is within walking distance of the beach - a long walk, but is doable, especially when it's not hot.

Also, the Original Oyster House has great food, you may have to wait, but the wait is worth it.

Just got back from Gulf Shores. Stayed at Gulf State Park. Very few trees left since the hurricane but the sites are great. They have close to 500 sites. Plenty of room between you and your neighbor. Very level. Great place to walk or ride bikes. Go to Doc's Seafood Shack for some great seafood. The locals know about it and if you drove by and didn't know you wouldn't go in. But it's wonderful.

I would suggest the State Park in April as well.Bring your bike to the park for nice rides to the beach! Gulf Shores is more a family place than a spring break party place. Luxury RV's sites are small but the pool felt good in June.

There may be a problem with April reservations. The park allows monthly rentals for "Snowbirds" which run into the spring and there are not too many other sites available. I'm not sure if the monthly's can stay through April but if they do then reservations will be hard to come by.

Spring breakers do tend to fill up everything in Gulf Shores during April.

For April you will be hard pressed to stay in one park for the month.
MAYBE if you book now you could but if you wait much longer I doubt it.
As to the Spring Breakers it is more of a family spring break.
Since you need cable I would suggest Anchors Away, Doc's RV or Island Retreat.
The weather can be a mixed bag. Sometimes a late cold front will come through for a few days (high maybe 70 lows 50's) but for the most part it highs in the upper 70's low 80 and lows in the 60's. Also a good breeze most days. Water temp in the Gulf will be in the low 70's (kind of cool for me but seems to be bathwater for the yankees)

Have fun.
