You swing to the East, you swing to the West, you do the hoky poky and you turn all around, that's what it's all about. If you are in the cone of expectation, for Fay, your awnings need to be put up on RV's. Remember to follow the steps of retracing by putting arms in correct position, then turn tab to "UP" position on manual awnings. They will not handle the expected 60 plus MPH winds in the down position. Put all yard chairs and tables that fold in storage, as they will do damage if they hit your RV. Find the strongest structure in your Rv park for emergency shelter. That usualy is the concrete block structure built after 1993. Upper wind currents are still stering the storm so it could go either way. As of 6:48 AM Monday August 18,2008. Power outages may follow get flash lites ready. DON'T USE CANDLES INSIDE RV'S THEY WILL BURN ALL THE OXYGEN AND CAN CAUSE FIRES. IF YOU FILL YOUR FRESH WATER TANKS YOU WILL HAVE MORE STABILITY IN YOUR RV. IF YOU HAVE NOT USED THEM IN A WHILE, DUMP THE WATER AFTER STORM AS IT MAY BE UNSAFE TO DRINK. ONE CUP OF CLOROX WILL PURIFY 15 GALLONS OF WATER AFTER ABOUT ONE DAY. BE SAFE, CHARGE CELL PHONES SO IF POWER IS OUT YOU HAVE CHARGE.

Hang on, trop-a-cal. Our son is in Melbourne and I get a little antsy when storms are on the horizon. Hopefully, everyone will take proper precautions and will get through okay.
Thanks for the good tips.

I'm not looking forward to this at all. The storm doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as the uncertainty. We have neighbors that are on the verge of a nervous breakdown and those darn things can be catching. Trust me when I tell you, my neighbors are carriers!

We could use the rain, don't need too much wind or any Tornados.

I'm hoping the winds stay down and the tornados don't form. However, the southeast is in dire need of a storm like this, especially if it stays on the current projected path. The storm would be a good start to refilling the extremely low resevoirs in upper GA and SC.

You may not want to dump your fresh water tanks after the storm. My full tank came in handy after Wilma cut all electric and it was 9 days before it was restored.
Where I was at if you have no electric, the well water pumps would not work to give you any water.
