I know what you mean about cleaning the carpet. We've got a Dirt Devil steam cleaner (just a little consumer grade job) and it comes in handy for maintaining the carpet. I'm taking in the travel trailer this week to trade it in and I'm sure they will be surprised at the interior of this 10 year old TT. The new 5'er has much more vinyl in it though and central vac so I think we'll be steaming a bit less down the road. I agree about shore power. I've got to do a quick revamp for the new rig too as it s 50amp and my current setup won't pull enough juice I don't believe.

Also as far as the carpet goes, a little Scotchguard goes along way in these units too.

Been using the steamvac at least once a year for the last couple 5ers. Isn't it great to be able to keep RV at home? Stick built doesn't have AC, 90 degrees we start up the AC in 5er and stay comfy.
I clean the carpet in our fiver every Spring using the upholstery attachment on our Bissell Steam Cleaner. Works wonderfully. We too, are lucky enough to keep our RVs at home, and on the handful of occasions when we get 90° weather here in WA State we crank up that AC and have dinner in the camper. Isn't life grand?

I have one of those little green machines and I always tell people it's the best thing I've ever bought. Don't know what I would have done without it when my dog was a puppy. And you're right it works great in the motorhome and the car.

I have the distinct advantage of having a truck mounted carpet cleaning machine at my disposal. The carpets on our 7 year old TT looked pretty worn. Now after three cleanings a month apart, they look like new.

With that small of an area, watch for someone in your neighborhood getting their house done. Tell the guy you'll pull up to him so he doesn't have to setup again and you'll get a good deal for it. It's easy money for him.

We just bought a Bissel Little Green machine. I too, just cleaned the carpet as we were in Alabama for 5 weeks staying in our trailer. It did a GREAT job!
