Going to look today to consider trading the current Discovery 35H we have. Love the floorplan of the 40X. MSRP is around $228k and I am thinking with todays market we should get 25% off? I have seen some new ones at Camping Work going for $169k.

Will probably take a beating on the 35H we have right now as the used DP market is just as bad if not worse than the new one. Although, I am told that is a desirable floorplan?

We have a 40X Providence and we LOVE the floorplan. It's the best we've been in. Everybody that come's over really likes it too. We have Wii contest in our living room area with no problem, so far we've had six adults in there playing Wii bowling or Wii Fit. Great layout! Good luck!

Interesting topic. I am sure you and I are not alone on wanting to take advantage of the great prices currently offered across the country. I've been checking out some deals, some very similar to yours and all I've found is unbelievable LOW trade in values. This is not all that surprising but we're talkin rediculous. One dealer offered me 40K for my 03 Monaco Knight.

So....I feel like I will wait and see what the fuel market/RV market does before I can commit to another RV. One thing for sure, its a great time to buy one IF you don't have a trade. Another dealer told me flat out they didn't really want the trade in's because they can't move them. And...as a side bonus, banks are very shy on the loans right now, afraid to get burned with a RV that does nothing but go down in value. Just seems like all I hear is a whole lot of negativity.

Yes, we will see what they have to say. It may be better to just sell the old one on our own.

Keep in mind that you will be downgrading from a 7.2 Cat to A 6.7 cummins. 860 ft/lb of torque to 650.

Should get more than 25% off. In the good times, you could get more than 25%. I would go for a minimum of 30%.

Offer today from salesman was my coach plus $109k. They had a used (but never titled) one there with 9900 miles and 700 gen hours. Offer on that one was my coach plus $98k. So, roughly a $10k swing to go with brand new vs slightly used.

Brochure says that it is a 6.7 Cummins with 350 HP and 750 ft/lb torque.

Thats still a big drop in torque. Consider a Providence or Expedition in the 40X floorplan and you get a Cummins ISC with 1050lbs torque. With the 2009 models you get real pass-through storage as well.

Maybe, but is that extra torque worth $20k add in price?

The Discovery we saw has pass thru, just not on all the bays.
