I did a search on this park, and only one posting. Does anyone have info on this. It looks like it would be a great place to stay. I am surprised I havn't heard more about it. We are thinking of staying there in Feb or March as there are still some vacancies.
Any help would be welcome.
Thanks
Larry

I didn't care for it much. The sites are one on top of another and we literally had other campers inches away from our open awning.

Campsite photos

There are better looking sites in other campgrounds. Do you have a few backups on your list to research?

I'd pass on this CG, too.

There is a review of Collier here http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/Florida/Naples.html

We stayed there about 10 years ago, used it as a base to visit Naples and surrounding areas. You are in the Everglades and there are mosquitoes.

The skeeters won't be bad in Feb or March. I kinda like the place but to be honest I haven't camped there yet. Probably because I don't live too far away. It will be busy at that time as is just about every campground in South Florida.

We were there a couple of years ago about the same time you are going. Didn't have mosquito problems but the CG is pretty crowded. We were on a corner and had people on both sides of us crammed in so tight we got to know each other real well. Nice people though. Would we go back there, yes. Lots to do in the area. Make sure you are not too big to get in - had some friends came in with a 5er and couldn't fit into their site. Helpful folks running the place though and they got him situated OK in another site.

We were there last Feb and bugs were not a problem. The campsites are close to each other, we didn't have a problem with our 37ft MH and toad-- but it was tight. The weekend we were there they had a reenactment and Native American & Pioneer Festival commemorating the 148th anniversary of the Battle of Royal Palm Hammock. The two-day festival features a reenactment of the historic battle between Seminole Chief Billy Bowlegs and American settlers, live folk music and Native American crafts and food. I really liked going to Goodland, just down the road .. neat little party town on the weekends. We also kayaked out of the park into the glades.

Here is an alternative to consider. Ortona South COE.

About 25 miles east of Fort Myers. Not as far south, but you could take day trips to visit the Everglades from here - we have. Read my review and see some pics of it here.

And if interested, you can watch a walking tour video I made last February. 4 videos in total. Ortona Videos.

Real nice place that is quite popular with the snowbirds.
