I'm surprised at the number of Dodge posts, but happy. For the money, I believe the 2500/3500 CTD is the best option. I just bought one. I won't sleep well tonight due to excitement.

I've owned trucks from Chevy, Ford, Toyota, and now Dodge. I like the Toyota but bought the RAM for serious towing.

A nice "inexpensive" Dodge Dakota, which pulls my 5,500 lb 25' TT very nicely, AND gets between 10.3 and 11.7 mpg doing 60+ on regular unleaded. Camp on!

most popular ?? Odd question if your wanting a tow vehicle to do a job. When looking at trucks for a towing job I look at reliability/low regular schedule maintenance costs/trucks price/low fuel usage/biggest GAWR's/large fuel tanks/etc. Thats the reasons I choose the truck in my sig.

While I've owned and towed with all 3, I'm on my second Dodge now.

My 2005 2500 QC 5.9 CTD auto 4X4 wouldn't get 24 mpg down a mine shaft with a tail wind. Actual, hand calculated @75 mph empty/cruise is maybe 19. Towing our 9500 lb TT is from 11.5-12 ish or so at 62 mph. Trying 55mph tomorrow going to Florida. You can pass me if you'd like, I'll help you. When I'm in front you have to go around me. Where I'm going was there when I left and will still be there when I get there. LMHO
