While we were fortunate to not lose power, there are many around us who do not have power. We lost cable until late last night. Our DD and SIL still do not have power and are now enjoying the Christmas present we gave them a couple years ago. A generator. A friend of mine borrowed our generator. Sharyl's school told her that there would not any school the rest of the week unless called the night before. The neighborhood trees did not fair as well. Our back yard was covered with pine cones and pine needles from the nieghbor's trees. One of their big pines has started to uproot. Hopefully it will not fall before they have a chance to have it taken down. If it were to fall it could reach either one of our houses. We spent yesterday afternoon cleaning up several of the yards around the area.

Mick, I agree. No generator at the electrician's house? Seems kinda strange doesn't it?

We've decided not to take the MH to Ky this w/e due to the cost of gas. We're still going, just w/o the MH.

Lake Buckhorn is still without power, but our generator is working quite well! No internet service until today. The land phones were out until this afternoon and the cell tower was out most of yesterday. I spent this afternoon building brush piles! Roger is going to be so proud of me!

I'm very glad to hear that all of you are doing well and did not suffer much damage! I had to drive to Circleville yesterday and I was amazed at how many downed trees and lines I saw.

We've changed our minds about the trip to Ky. At this point in time, we are going to take the MH. Too many loose ends without it. Just have to suck it up and pay the price at the pumps.

There's no telling how many times this will change again before Friday.

Our power is out too - maybe for 2 more days

this will be the 2nd time this summer I have to throw away the contents of fridge & freezer

No damage to our place other than some limbs to clean up - Ken's new 160 mph shingles didn't even wiggle

Yea! for Ken's shingles!

See, if you were still camping this wouldn't happen. I had to remind my lovely what we would do while full-timing and the power went out. You guessed it, turn on the generator.

Our power was out from Sunday 6pm to today (Tues noon) I have been wishing I had bought that genset at Tractor Supply last fall. Then we could have at least watched the Steelers like Dan and Larry did.

Winds at Port Columbus Sunday afternoon were over 70mph, a new record. We have many mature trees at the park that snapped 10 feet up from the base. Some are 24 inch diameter trees. The Ridge trail will be closed for a while.

No damage to anything at home. We are lucky, it could always be worse.

I think I am going to look into one of the Generac Units. Larry, can you get a good deal on them? Need one on propane with the transfer switch and self starter. A friend has one and really likes it. It starts itself and runs some once a month.

Actually, we do have a generator but I loaned it to Glenn to run his frig and freezer. Linda and I chilled in the motorhome watching our Direct TV. It was very pleasant.

Dan, no, we don't have any contacts for good deals on gensets. We have never pursued that end of the business. I have a friend who installs them as a part of his business. He has done over 45 already this year and gets his gensets at Home Depot. Go figure.

Lost Time Warner cable at 10:30 PM Sunday evening. (Who won the Cleveland vs Steelers game?)
I don't know if the phone went out... no one calls (except tele-marketors).

Still no power, still no cable and the phone still isn't ringing.

It's kind of nice and quiet at home in the evening.

Jim

If you have no cable than how did you post?
Steeler's won 10-6.
After I posted this morning at school, I went out and did a few errands. Upon my arrival home, while talking to hey Sharyl, my welcome candles in the windows were lit. YAHOO!! I've got power!! I got cable!! NA-NA-NA-NA. And no you can't Tp me for that!
