An inverter makes 120v AC power out of 12v DC power. A 400 watt inverter will power your TV off the trailer battery but will use a lot of battery power.
Inverters seldom run well at more than half their rated capacity so you need one that a bit bigger than the AC load.

you may be thinking of the CONverter. This is a device most RV's are equipped with. It does the exact opposite of an inverter...It converts the 120 volts AC household power down to 12 volts DC so that your batteries can be charged, and your 12 volt lights and appliances can be used while plugged in without draining the battery(s)
I talked to my Dad, who has the ex650 and he informed me that he has used it to run his small lcd tv. I just want to make sure I don't mess up the large one.
A 650 is pretty small, which is good and bad, it'll be pretty quiet (comparatively) but won't handle much (650 watts). You really need to look up the power consumption of the TV, I found a 32" that uses only 150W and a 52" that uses 700W.
