I have an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station I use in the motorhome and house to set up a wireless network. It has stopped working and is just over a year old. As this is my first Apple product to go 'bad' in such a short time, I wondered if I was doing something wrong. I have tried the paper clip trick they talk about in the manual to reset the station but it does nothing I have tried unplugging the thing to see if that worked. Nothing. My local repair place says the repair is to replace it with a new one, they don't try to fix them.
Before I go out and buy a new one, is there anything else I should try? Is this the sort of life I should expect? A little over a year, I bought it in June 2007, seems rather short.
Thanks
Ron
Ron, call Apple Tech Support and see what they can do. I bought a refurb and have had no problems, but I've had other (D-Link and Linksys) die on me before. When I called support about my mighty Mouse I found them very helpful in diagnosing the problem. You can also visit the Apple forums to post a question as well.
Forced Family Fun... They'll thank you later for it! Have you checked out the new RV.net Blogs?
Are the lights on when you plug it in? Any flashing amber, green, anything? Might still be under warranty, if you bought it with an AMEX card then you have an extra year at least.

Ditto on the AMex thing. I buy all my electronics with Amex to get an extra year. Is the Extreme accessible via Airport utility? Do you have it hooked up to a surge protector. It's unusual for one to die so soon, but things do happen like that. All my Airports have been running for years , just lucky so far.
