We are having a problem with ants in the trailer. No food around or left out, but the ants are all over! Mostly they are in the kitchen. Is it because its cooler in the trailer or wet around the kitchen? I wish I knew. We are staying at a local lake for the week and we were overcome with them yesterday. I went outside and they were coming up the back of the trailer to the roof. I brought a sprayer from home with some good insecticide and sprayed away, both inside and out! I hope this keeps them out. Any suggestions from the rest of you? I think that these are small "sugar ants." They don't bite normally, but they are just a pain. I am thinking about leaving the sprayer on the rig and spraying anytime that we stay someplace for any extended period of time.

Sorry, I put too many T's in Ant! Maybe one of the little boogers jumped on the keyboard and hit it while I was typing!

Do a search here and get the name of the Tucson dealer that had the "bee" problem. The dealer could maybe tell you what they used for their "bee" problem!
Sorry, just couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Might I suggest getting some ant stakes and place them thruout the trailer in the cabinets.
Id also spray around the trailer where you thing they are entering paying extra attention to the tire area.

We have the same problem in Georgia. I almost always spray around the tires, leveling legs, wires and hoses. Anything that could provide an entry point for ants, and I still get them sometimes. Once those little sugar ants get into your trailer, they will set-up a nest somewhere. You have to keep following them and spray any concentration of ants you see. I also heard, I think it was on this forum, that if you put an unlit citronella candle in your trailer, they will not come in. The best spray I have found for ants so far is Home Defense. I tried Bug Stop, but, it did not stop them. I also sometimes sprinkle Sevin Dust around the tires, etc. Treat any ant mounds you see near your campsite, and NEVER, NEVER pour out left-over soda pop at your camp site.

Terro works great !! I have a couple drops sitting in the storage area of our TT. When we first bought our TT I sprinkled Boric Acid around every nook and cranny of the TT. When we camp I spread Borax mixed with Diatamaceous earth around the tires and stab jacks. On the hoses and electric cord I put down a stripe of vaseline. Ants won't cross it. Around the storage site at home I treat the ground regularly with insecticide to keep any and all bugs at bay !!
On our last TT we had ants so bad we had to bomb the TT. Used two Black Flag sprays and kept it tight for two days.

Terro is good, especially for the Pharoah ants (those tiny sugar ants). We also spray Bengal every six months around the slides, engine compartment, generator area, power cord area and roof vents. We also take all drawers out and spray behind any cabinet work and under the shower.
So far, doing this every six months or so, eliminates spiders, ants and other crawly things.
