I've been considering a Roo 233, just noticed that it looks like the GVWR for 2009 is now listed at 6409? The info I had on the 2008 was a GVWR of 4684. Did they upgrade the axles this year? Does anyone know of any other changes (small or large) to the 2009 Roo's/Shamrocks?
***I'm actually excited about this, because it seemed as if there was only around 800lbs difference before between the dry weight and the listed GVWR.

Pretty sure Forest River put the big axles under the all the 23 footers. Only way to tell for sure is to slide under and check the tag riveted to the center of the axle.

The GVWR for our 2009 Shamrock 233 is 4808. There is not that much difference between 2008 and 2009. Where did you find the 6409 number? On a trailer or on the web-site? Call or go to a dealer and check what actual trailers have.

The sticker that states the GVWR as 4808 for a 2009 233 model could be wrong as well. I have a 2008 233 model that is 7.5' wide and has the 4808 GVWR. I would think the extra 6" of frame and material for the 2009 model year would put you over the 4808 lbs. easily. I would expect them to upgrade the axles...like Chuck said check the axle tag.

It's on the RV Wholesalers site, under the specs. Looks like it was just recently updated/changed to the higher number. That's why I was curious if they had actually made a significant change in the axle or frame for the 2009 model year?
I'd check with a local dealer, but I can't find one that currently has either the Roo or Shamrock 233 on their lot. Of course, the Forest River site still has the 2008 brochure and info. I guess they'll get around to putting up the 2009 stuff eventually.

I can guarantee that sticker is wrong that shows the lower GVWR. I have a 2008 232 that I bought last June and it came with the 3200lb axles but the stickers showed otherwise. After a bit of fussing with RVW they were able to get me the correct updated stickers from FR that show the correct weights. It seems as FR engineering updates the trailers it takes over a year or more for them to update ratings and such even though if you call them they will tell you the correct ratings for the year. You think FR would be more on top of things like this.

The 2008 and 2009 year models
should both be 8 feet wide
and both over 6000 pounds GVWR

If thats true, than Forest River REALLY needs to do a much better job of updating their brochures/website, and notifying their dealers. All the current info on the Forest River website and their printed brochure, not to mention probably 75%+ of all their dealer websites list the lower GVWR/dry weights and a 7.5' width.
Fixed info like GVWR and the campers width should not be difficult to find accurately. It's a fairly significant difference between a GVWR of 4684 and 6400lbs. This makes comparisons/deciding between different campers all the more difficult when you don't know if you can trust the manufacturer or dealer's on basic information.
OK, done with my vent

Tell me about it. They still list the 232 at 23' when it is in fact 27'. Big difference.
