When is 99 cents only not 99 cents? Soon the worlds biggest chain of it's kind will be charging more. Say it ain't true! We love this place! A famous photographer took pictures of the way the store is layed out, with colorful merchandise stacked in neat rows. The photos are on display in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC! HERE
Started in California in 1982 by David Gold, the "99 Cents Only" stores chain now has 265 stores, 10,000 employees, and stays open "9 days a week" from 9 AM to 9 PM. Some of the merchandise is junk, some is much more quality closeouts. When they have a new store opening, the first 9 customers in the door have waited for days for a chance to buy some real bargins, 99 cent Ipods, TV's, stereos, and other expensive items.
This week the Chain came out and said due to higher distribution costs, the 26 year old concept may raise some of the prices above the long time 99 cent only price point. I guess all good things must come to an end! At least they're not closing stores. Maybe they should consider becoming a "membership" store like Costco or Sams Club!!!

Think so? Take a peek at their boat here.

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved. The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

Exxel (sp?) mfgr of sleeping bags, just returned their
mfgr from China to the USA.
The bags are carried at Wally !!
Now let's get on to important stuff - where your car/truck is mfg,
where the parts are mfg, where it's assembled, etc.
Then we can move on to your TV, computer & monitor, etc., etc.
Then - we need to discuss buying MORE refined petro products -
so the oil companies stop shipping it overseas!
Darn Wally should have gas stations like Costco. Very un-American!
