How can I turn off my interior dome lights and leave my exterior light mounted over the rear glass on? I do not have the sliding rear window. I need light in my 2000 F250 bed to hitch up my 5er at night, but when I turn on the exterior light the glare from the interior dome light prevents me from seeing in the bed.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Does the interior light have an on/off switch right on the light itself?
Does your truck have a separate switch on the dash for the cargo light?
If no to both of these questions, then make a temp cover you can pin up over the interior light to cover it while hitching.

Change out your interior light with one that has a on/off switch.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure which I'll choose, but they're all good ideas. Turns out each of my interior lights has 3 bulbs, 2 map lights and 1 dome light. I may just take the dome bulbs out and then I still have the map lights if I need the light. Or I may do a quick wiring job (if I don't find new lights to change out that I like) and install a mini switch for each of the lights so I can turn them on/off as desired.
Thanks.

I mounted lights underneath the gooseneck area that shine down into the truck bed... They operate off the trailer battery and have a switch accessable from the ground on the drivers side next to the hydraulic landing gear switch. This works good as an outside light source at the camp when the trailer is unhitched.
