The decal on the front of my TT is peeling and becoming faded. The ones on the sides and the rear are just fine.

I saw my RV dealer putting a new one on my same model for a customer and asked how much to replace it. $400 for the decal (special factory order)

What is the best way to remove the decal?

You can buy stuff to remove decals, probably a good place to look would be an auto paint shop. There is also an air riven tool that will scrape the decals off with no damage.

Go to a auto parts store and ask for a decal eraser. It is a wheel made out of eraser type material that you put in a drill. Not easy but by far the easiest way. Were it me I would remove the old decal and have the dealer install the new one. Let them assume the possibility of screwing it up.

Forget the $400.00 new decal, you can have it painted on at any sign shop for the same or less, cusomize it to fit you, and it won't peel off and with the right paint, it won't fade either! You should be able on a warm day, peel the old stuff off with the help of a heat gun and/or denatured alcohol. If you do go with a new decal. keep it and the other decals wiped down with 303 Aerospace, it was designed for aircraft paint and graphics to keep them from UV and age damage. Works so well that none of my decals have ever shrunk, peeled or faded in the Califonia sun!

Best thing I have used to remove decals/sticky "crud" is 3M adhesive remover. It comes in a red can with white lettering. I think the part number is 08984. You should be able to find it at an auto paint store, maybe home depot.
