Hi all, I've had my trailer parked at a site for the last 2 years in a shaded area and now most of the window rubber trim has pink and black mold on it and I cannot get it to budge off. Any ideas here?

Did you try washing with a soap and bleach solution? Usually that will kill the mold and bleach most, if not all the stain, out? Also, is this inside or outside?

safe travels,

Bleach is basically the only thing that will kill mold.

Greetings. Have had the same problem out here on the wet coast...I have used "Acetone" to clean the white rubber moulding. You can start with a damp or wet cloth and dab it with acetone, then go to full strength if needed. Seems to work. Hope it works for you.....

The only way I got rid of it, and I tried a lot of ways, was to pull the molding off (not that hard), soak it in a bucket of water with bleach added for a few hours, pull it out (it will be pure white), and press it back in the channel around the window.

Was it as easy to get back into the channel as it was to get out?

Yes, it pulled out very easily and I had no trouble pushing it back in the channel. I read this suggestion from someone else and was a little hesitant to pull it out at first, so I tried pulling a small piece out a little bit and then immediately pushing it back in before it was all the way out and saw that it would be easy. The trailer was a 99 Trail Lite.

Try "Comet Spray Gel - Mildew Stain Remover." You don't need to use much, it is amazing. We had specks of mildew under the awning and they disappeared within seconds. Then make sure you rinse with water and let dry.

Thanks, I did what you said and it worked beautifully. I love this forum.
