We're in a 35' Class A with Jeep. We don't need full hook ups although 30amp is always nice. Summer 2009 is the plan.

Anybody stayed at or have opinions on:

Devil’s Lake State Recreational Area Lincoln City

Jesse M Honeyman Memorial State Park Florence

Nehalem Bay State Park Manzanita

South Beach State Park Newport

Cape Lookout State Park Tillamook

Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park Florence

Beachside State Recreational Site Waldport

Beverly Beach State Park Newport

Cape Lookout great campground, close to the beach.

Beverly beach is equally as nice but maybe a little better fit for a larger rig.

We love both of them, but the road to Cape Lookout is a little bumpy.

Second emay, but would add Newhalem. Excellent state park.

Would highly recommend Ft. Stevens just outside of Astoria as well. One of our all time favorite parks.

Make sure you make your reservations as soon as you can!! Those Oregon State Parks on the coast are in high demand during the summer!

Good luck and enjoy some of the most fantastic coastal scenery you'll find.

You should make reservations for sites on the Oregon coast...especially on weekends. Our favorite coastal parks are Honeyman,Sunset Bay, and Bullards Beach. From your list...Washburn is not a "reservations" park. You will easily find sites at each of the parks that will accomodate your 35' RV. Have fun.

Beachside is nice if you can get a site on the ocean side. Some are not very big. Small campground. Only problem is thare is no dump station. South Beach is bigger but can't see the water.

Another vote for Ft. Stevens but all of Oregons CG's are well funded and kept up.

Anybody stayed at or have opinions on:

Devil’s Lake State Recreational Area Lincoln City - I stayed at a house on Devil's Lake - great area, neat lake. I drove through the campground and it is very typical of Oregon State Parks, which is AWESOME!

Jesse M Honeyman Memorial State Park Florence - I have stayed in Honeyman about 100 times. Great park. close to the dunes, but far away enough that you don't have to listen to the sound. Nice non-motorized lake. Nice secluded sites, some with hookup some without

Nehalem Bay State Park Manzanita - Nehalem bay campground is nice, but most of the sites are pretty open. I liked it because you could walk to the beach and watch people do kite surfing, regular surfing and wind boarding in the bay.

Cape Lookout State Park Tillamook - Driven through, but have never stayed. Seems like another typical Oregon State Park (AWESOME)

Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park Florence - This is a great campground, nice secluded sites and an easy walk to the beach.

Beverly Beach State Park Newport - I have never stayed here, but another forum I belong too has an annual rally here and they love it.

I would second the idea to make reservations when you can... especially in the summer. The State parks in Oregon are very popular because most of the other campgrounds along the coast do not have hook-ups so the State parks fill up first.

Have fun!

Stayed at South Beach this summer. A very short walk from the campground to the Beach. Campground is out of the wind if the beach is windy. Good trails to walk or ride a bicycle on. Close to town & local attractions.

We stayed at Beverly Beach and Nehalem Bay this summer. Both were nice. Nehalem is an easy walk to the beach, if you get the back of Beverly its more of a hike. Nehalem is more open with a few trees between sires. Beverly had more privacy at least in our site.
