I've spent the last month setting up my MH to take on the Rocky Mountains. Suspension, tires, brakes, etc.

Last stop was FORD to check the solenoid on the OD.

Went to pick up my MH and on the way home my 'just checked out' brakes started making a whooshing noise. Got back to the CG and set up and started doing the usuall outside duties opening bays for water electric etc.

Opened first storage bay and had a table come crashing out at my head almost knocking my eye clean out. The entire bay storage had shifted and had crashed into the bay door.

Went inside the coach and everything on the floor had been sent crashing to the other side. Opened fridge and everything fell out and all the glass containers where all broke. Opened overhead cabinets and everything there too came crashing out and many items smashed and broken.

Called the Ford dealership to ask someone had taken my MH out for a drive. They did and of course the mechanic denied any panic stops or reckless driving of it. Did say he took the cloverleaf off the interstate with it.

He must have hit that ramp at least 50 mph, lost control of the MH and then jumped on the brakes to have that much damage happen inside the coach.:

So I guess I now have learned that when in any repair shop, NO one is to test drive my MH without me in it.

Do any of you allow shops to take your MH for test drives without you in it?

So .... You didn't push the shody work preformed to the service manager? and show him the wrecked, disorder of the inside of your RV.
I sure would have and had them replace all that got broken too.
Too bad that happened, almots like the parking lot attendent in Ferris Bulers Day Off.

Another good example for ALWAYS "checking out the unit" before leaving the "service" facility......their claim now COULD be that you did the damage yourself AFTER picking up the unit and are trying to blame them. How to prove otherwise????? IMHO, of course

Maybe he tested it on the same mountain back road Robin Williams took in RV. Maybe his first time in a MH. Hope you get some compensation for $ loss - time - trouble - etc.

Good part is, that somebody tested weak points of your packing for you.
Sorry about the trouble, but proper packing can be crucial.

YUP! That's pretty much what it looked like!!

I've driven this MH for 2 years and it is packed properly and NOTHING has ever magically been thrown across to the other side of the MH from all the bays and cabinets. Nothing short of this MH almost being rolled over could have sent all my belongings across the MH and everything in the fridge shattered.

I have my cat in the back awaiting a flight out to California and when I checked on him this morning his bed was upside down and thrown against the back of his carrier and the poor guys eyes are still rolling around in his head.

Called the owner of the dealership this morning. Going down to talk to the mechanic to see if he wants to lie right to my face about loosing control of my MH on the interstate ramp. At this point I'm not looking for compensation, just want this kid to fess up to it.

The MH was 'not' in for any mechanical repairs only to have a computer hooked up to read why a light came on. MH drove in with all mechanicals in tip top working order. Actually there was NO need for a test drive.

Made an appt with the shop that originally inspected my brakes to take a look to see what damage this guy did by slamming on the brakes. Certainly not going to have Ford touch it again.
