Tannehill Historic State Park,
on I 20/59 at mile 100, between
Tuscaloosa and B'ham. About

FINE place. Avoid 3rd weekend
each month because of the

Actually Tannehill will be packed in October. They do Halloween all month long and families come and park for the whole time. There are so many campers that they overflow into the primitive sites. Plus, as mentioned above, the third weekend is Trade Days and they are usually covered up with day visitors coming to shop.

It's said ignorance and apathy cause most of the world's problems, but I don't know and I don't care.
If Natchez is a stop for you Riverview RV Park is the nicest in the area and just across the bridge in Vidalia, LA from Natchez. Nice park and walkway along the Mississippi River.

Natchez has many, many antebellum homes to tour and well worth the time to spend touring a few. The Carriage House restaurant located at the Stanton Hall mansion is excellent. It is only open for lunch. Stanton Hall, Melrose, Rosalie, and Longwood homes are among the best.
Last year we did the Natchez Trace northbound. Natchez State Park outside Natchez was a good base for that area. There are a number of CG's along the Trace, some of which are free. You can find some notes and pictures of the CG's we visited from Natchez on up into TN and then into east TN on our web site below. Have a great trip.
