I am sanitizing my fresh water tank and need to drain 50 gallons of water with approx, 3/4 cup of bleach mixed. Can I just do this on my lawn? Seems harmless enough, but my wife isn't harmless if I am wrong and it kills the grass!

At that ratio you are looking at about 0.01% concentration of bleach, while I wouldn't drink this water it will be absorbed over several square feet of lawn which would again reduce the concentration. I do this each year and have never noticed any change in the lawn appearance. If you have any concerns just put the sprinkler on before or afterwards for a few minutes to further dilute the bleach.

IMO bleach at that low concentration will not hurt your grass ...

It is common to use bleach solutions when pressure washing houses and also when treating yards against parvo virus (I used to raise dachshunds) ...

At that low a concentration I wouldn't worry about it at all. Go ahead and dump it on the ground it won't hurt a thing.

Won't hurt your grass but one time I killed a large number of worms. They initially crawled out of the ground like they do when it rains hard but they were all dead a day later.

That weak of a solution will not hurt anything and if you are still concerned add some more water to dilute even more.

If you're using that small amount of bleach, I wouldn't worry about killing the grass.

I use bleach to clean my dog run area at home (20 yrs Danes and Beagles).. Pure and straight and it always comes in contact with lawn 100% and its never harmed any blade of grass, or plant..

After is soaks in a bit its watered down with hose to remove the smell.. Only way to remove the urine smell from soiled ground. If pure bleach doesn't kill it, your mix won't hurt a thing..

I am a retired house painter. We washed-down houses with STRONG Clorox solutions (sometimes a quart to 2 gals of water for stubborn mildew) right over delicate flowers and ornamentals and never had a problem. Shrubbery we ignored, but we would rinse-of delicate looking plants with clean water afterwards. It definitely won't hurt grass!
