Agree with the posts that three days is not enough, but alot what you can. We love Acadia NP (you could easily spend your 3 days there alone) and the Bar Harbor area. Several smaller towns on Mt. Desert Island that are great to visit. We stay at the KOA which has nice facilities and some great sunsets from their water sites (w/e only).
Camden is really nice too. As a matter of fact, we havent't found any place in Maine we didn't enjoy.

Planning next vacation in June 09. Will be going to Boston and on to Maine. We do not know much about this state and need help. What are the must see sites and CG recommendations. We will be in Maine appx 3 days but could stay longer if needed.
If you visit Acadia NP I would suggest that you stay on the quiet side of the island in Southwest Harbor. Quiet, very little traffic, great hiking and close to the water. Two excellent campgroundsewall part of NP and Smugglers Den which is private. You will not be disappointed at either facility. Enjoy, beautiful country.
