I'm going to be driving an entertainer coach from Nashville to the Fellowship of the Woodlands in Woodlands, TX in a couple weeks. The mapping programs show using US 59 from Texarkana south to I-20. TX 43 from I-20 south to Henderson, TX. US 79 from Henderson, TX south to I-45 at Buffalo, TX. I'm think I was on the road maybe ten years ago, but, I can't remember. Is anyone familiar with these roads etc?

Just did it a couple of days ago, good roads. At least to 21 where I jumped off. An alternative might be 59 til you get down around The Woodlands, I think that might have more 4 lane if you like that kind of thing. Also, the closer I get to Houston the more I like to stay off 45. Maybe someone who is familiar with that route could chime in.

Nothing wrong with this routing or the one mentioned above.
All those roads are good, not a lot of truck traffic.

Another alternative is to stay on US59 to Cleveland (TX) and turn west toward Cut and Shoot on TX 105 (yes it's a real place), proceed into Conroe and take the south loop to I-45, then south to The Woodlands".

This might be somewhat faster since most of US59 is four-lane.

Greg121's and Grey Eagle's suggestions are good ones. U.S 59 would give you 4-lane almost all of the way from Texarkana, except for your cut-over from U.S. 59 to I-45. TX 105 through Cut & Shoot can have a lot of traffic on it at certain parts of the day and on Fridays and Sundays, when everyone is leaving out, and coming back. And there are a LOT of bars through there, so watching for the inebriated is advised.

Don't even consider using FM 1960 from Humble to I-45. Good road, but too close to Houston. Has 2 or 3 dozen traffic lights through there. Your MH could burn a tank of fuel in about 5 miles.

Another alternative would be to take U.S. 190W at Livingston, TX. to I-45 at Huntsville, TX., then south to The Woodlands. We live near Waco, but our #1 son lives in Onalaska, TX. (on U.S.190 at Lake Livingston), and we travel this road frequently. Part of it outside Livingston, and from Point Blank to Huntsville, is 4-lane, but there's usually not much traffic, even on the 2-lane stretches. The scenery is nice, rolling hills with a lot of thick timber. And you would get to see the 80-foot statue of Sam Houston just south of Huntsville on I45 !

Good suggestion. You could also take 59 from Texarkana all the way to 242 which would be past the exit for 105. 242 will take you right to I45 and actually you wouldn't even need to get on I45 because from there you'd go under the freeway and Fellowship of the Woodlands is only a couple of lights away. I love about 15 minutes from there.
